Recent years, the judicial agencies in the province have collaborated to organize online trial proceedings, contributing to improving the quality and efficiency of court proceedings, ultimately aiming to build a fully electronic court.
The People’s Court of the province organized an online trial at 28 locations, involving the crime of making, storing, and circulating counterfeit currency.

The People’s Court of the province has just conducted a first-instance trial of the case involving the crime of making, storing, and circulating counterfeit currency against three defendants, Tran Thẩm Lin, Huỳnh Hoàng Đức Anh, and Cao Nhất Ý. This is the first trial of its kind to be organized by the court.
The trial was conducted in a solemn and orderly atmosphere, with a technical staff member present at the People’s Court of the city of Vị Thanh to ensure the smooth operation of the trial proceedings. The trial was conducted in accordance with the regulations.

As this was a case with many complex issues that required debate and discussion among the parties involved, the investigator thoroughly researched the case file, participated in direct debate with the defense counsel, and ensured the fairness and impartiality of the trial. Based on the results of the trial and the debate, the court sentenced the defendants to prison terms ranging from 18 months to 11 years, ensuring that justice was served and the defendants received a high degree of satisfaction.

According to the People’s Court of the province, during the first half of the year, the two-level court has successfully organized 25 online trial proceedings, including 8 trials conducted by the People’s Court of the province, 16 trials conducted by the district court, and 23 trials conducted by the high people’s court, aimed at improving the skills and professionalism of judges.
According to Mr. Trương Đình Nghệ, Chief Justice of the People’s Court of the province, during the online trial, the judicial agencies have conducted all the procedures of a trial in accordance with the regulations, and the defendants and victims have been present on time, fully participated in the trial, and responded to the questions and requests of the court.
“The online trial has saved time and costs for organizing trials, overcome geographical limitations, and reduced the financial burden on citizens, especially those in remote areas,” Mr. Nghệ said.

According to Mr. Kiều Văn Thọ, Head of the Judges’ Council of the People’s Court of the province, the advantages of online trials include the ability to reduce the psychological impact on victims and defendants, as well as the ease of organizing trials, especially in cases of civil and administrative disputes.
The online trial has also allowed for real-time connection between the central location of the People’s Court of the province and the local locations, enabling defendants, victims, and litigants to fully follow the trial proceedings and participate in the procedures in accordance with the regulations.
The entire trial was recorded and stored, allowing for effective supervision by authorized agencies.
