Recently, the People’s Court of Ngã Bảy city has made a public verdict, sentencing Lê Tuấn Em to 12 months in prison for stealing property in accordance with Article 173 of the Penal Code.

Lê Tuấn Em, who had a history of addiction to drugs, committed theft on three occasions between December 16, 2023 and March 16, 2024.

On the first occasion, Lê Tuấn Em stole a motorcycle with registration number 83F4-9150 belonging to Mr. Phan Văn Bay, valued at VND 1,000,000. On the second occasion, he stole 10m of copper tubing from Mrs. Nguyễn Kiều Diễm, weighing 5kg, valued at VND 750,000. On the third occasion, he stole a golden magnolia flower from Mr. Ngô Thanh Thảo, valued at VND 550,000.

Although each theft was valued at less than VND 2,000,000, insufficient to be considered a crime, prior to this, Lê Tuấn Em had a criminal record for stealing property, making this latest offense meet the requirements to be prosecuted.
